A Difference of Seven Years?

Margaret Willett, wife of Moses Linton (grandson of Captain John Linton), was the daughter of George W. S. Willett and Nancy Hancock.  She is buried in Gethsemani Abbey Cemetery.  This photo was taken in 2003, while researching for Richard Linton.

This photo of the same gravestone was taken in October of 2010.  What a difference in the two photos!  Notice how much more of the stone is white in the first picture!  The cross is almost unrecognizable in the second!  The lower writing is more difficult to read in the older picture!

How important it is that we get out to the cemetery and take those photos now.  The deterioration of the gravestones gets worse as each day passes by!  Get your information now before it’s too late!

  1. That really emphasizes how tombstones deteriorate. Glad you have the earlier picture!

  2. I really admire what you’re trying to do. This picture illustrates it perfectly.

Any thoughts?
